Shomon joined the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice (BILP) in
2003. He is a member of the Criminal Litigation team and
specialises in the following areas:
- Criminal Litigation
- Advanced Criminal Litigation
- Criminal Advocacy and Evidence
Shomon also teaches on the Bar Professional Training Course and
is a Bar Professional Training Course accredited advocacy
trainer.
Before working at BILP, Shomon worked as a Criminal Defence
Solicitor in a high street legal aid practice. Since joining BILP
he has continued to practice as a Consultant Solicitor with a
criminal defence firm in Cardiff.
Shomon continues to work as a Police Station and Court Duty
Solicitor and regularly exercises his higher rights of audience at
the Crown Court. Shomon is also an external assessor for the
Solicitor Regulation Authority's Police Station and Court Duty
Solicitor accreditation schemes.
