Phil joined the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice (BILP) in
2004. As Course Director of the LPC he works in the management and
development of the LPC. He specialises in the following areas:
- Employment Law
- Professional Conduct & Regulation
- Practical legal Research
Phil is also a tutor on the Bar Professional Training Course and
the Professional Skills Course. He plays a lead role in the Law
School's award winning Community Legal Advice and Representation
Service (CLARS) supervising students who are undertaking Pro-Bono
work whilst undertaking the LPC.
Before working at BILP, Phil was a Partner at Osborne Clarke,
working in their Bristol office from 1988 to 2003. He was a
specialist employment lawyer, with extensive practice experience
acting for both employer and employee clients on a full range of
contentious and non contentious employment law matters, including
employment tribunal litigation, with advocacy experience in both
the Employment Tribunal and the EAT. His work also involved him
undertaking the employment work in relation to a range of corporate
transactions.
